The pandemic led to confrontation with situations that we thought impossible, challenging us emotionally, physically and mentally, even existentially. Initiatives quickly formed on the internet to support people during this difficult time by encouraging (digital) social contact or offering video tutorials for sport, mediation or yoga. However, particularly vulnerable groups, e.g. the many people who were unable to access the internet due to a lack of network coverage or age, were left out.
We wanted to reach precisely these people, which is why I launched the VITAMIN G3 - healthy and happy with Vitamin Green campaign, eliciting wild support from the public. The publisher OPTIMUM Medien & Service realized the VITAMIN G3 health card games in record time. The accompanying campaign The Forest in the City motivated older people in particular and set a positive example. Every evening at half past six, people came together on their balconies, at open windows, in their own gardens or on the terrace. Together, they created a forest in the city using the free exercise card The Forest in the City to strengthen their resilience and immune system. Each for themselves and together. It was a welcome change and a complete success!
The answer is: through exercise, proper nutrition, stress management and freedom from addiction. And last but not least, by spending time in nature, especially in forests, as shown by results from numerous research. According to the findings of psychoneuroimmunology, people who are under chronic stress are less able to resist viral attacks. The more relaxed, balanced and content we are, the greater our chances of staying and, in many cases, becoming healthy.
I am deeply convinced that we all have an inner doctor who helps us to overcome even seemingly insurmountable challenges and to take life into our own hands with a positive attitude. To do this, we don't need a lot of fuss, but rather the basics of life.
Our outer and inner nature provide us with everything we need to immunize ourselves against problems, stress and crises. With the VITAMIN G3 initiative - healthy and happy with vitamin green, we have contributed to ensuring that this fundamentally important message reaches those who need it most.
